Here are some typical specifications of my sculptures:
  • 1/8" or 3/16" stainless steel track
  • 1" or 1-1/4" steel balls, colored glass marbles, or plastic balls
  • Frame and supports are made of stainless steel
  • All surfaces are polished to a "machine quality" shine, not a mirror finish
  • All track is hand bent, hand welded, and continuously tested
  • All display cases have clear acrylic viewing surfaces
When more complex, machined parts are needed, I design them in AutoCAD and have them machined in a contract shop. All of my Rolling Ball Sculptures are handmade personally. Each sculpture is signed and dated upon completion to protect your investment.

The Rolling Ball Sculptures can be made to stand alone with no display case, or can be designed for an enclosure. If an enclosure is desired, I can build the RBS to fit within a pre-existing display case, or design a case to fit your needs. The Display case of the Mechanical Engineering demonstrator was designed specifically to fit the needs of the display and location. It's constructed of a polished stone base on a steel platform with clear acrylic walls and a textured steel top-cap. Lighting is provided by halogen lamps on the inside of the display case.

The size and scale of the sculpture will determine the method of shipping and installation. Smaller scale sculptures are sent in a shipping crate that I make specifically for the sculpture. These small sculptures can be set up in no time at all. Larger Sculptures are also shipped within a custom structure to aid in transportation and provide external protection. The larger sculptures require me to be on-site to aid in the installation and set-up. With these measures, the sculpture will arrive safely at its destination and provide years of exciting entertainment.
